Published 6:01pm Thursday, January 23, 2014

Owner Jeremy Vohwinkle has announce the official opening of his authentic BBQ restaurant, The Prized Pig. Beginning now, The Prized Pig will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.

With over 10 years experience cooking BBQ, Jeremy Vohwinkle has participated and won several BBQ competitions and is a Kansas City BBQ Judge. Jeremy decided to bring his extensive BBQ experience to Niles after seeing a need for an authentic independently-owned BBQ restaurant in the community. Prized Pig received first place in the Judge’s Choice category of the 2014 Niles Hunter Ice Festival Chili Cook-off. This chili is currently being served as a seasonal special item.

Prized Pig is located on the corner of Bell Rd. and U.S. 12 in Niles. The Prized Pig is an independent, locally owned BBQ restaurant that features homemade BBQ slowly smoked in-house with local Apple and Oak woods.  The Prized Pig offers brisket, ribs, pulled pork, chicken, sausage, sandwiches and sides like homemade macaroni and cheese, corn bread and baked beans.  Homemade BBQ sauces are available on the side and reflect BBQ from different areas of the country such as Carolina Vinegar, Kansas City Sweet, and something a little spicy.

Catering is available as are carryout orders and in house dining. Credit cards and cash are accepted and gift certificates are available.
