The Four Flags Area Chamber of Commerce’s first ever Ice Ball was attended by 106 people, according to Tyanna Weller, chamber president/CEO.

“It turned out to be a really great night,” she said. “We are definitely going to do it again. We thought it was very exciting and the crowd response was wonderful.”

The ball raised $2,600 for the chamber, $131.50 for the Hunter Ice Festival and $26.75 for the local Civitan Club.

Weller said the $2,600 would be used to help fund a craft brew festival in May.

“We were a little lower than our goals, but for a first-time event sometimes just breaking even is a success,” she said.

The ice ball was held Friday evening in downtown Niles, helping kick off the city’s 10th Annual Hunter Ice Festival.

The chamber’s next event is the business after hours from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29 at Greater Niles Community Federal Credit Union, 507 E. Main St., Niles.

An eye-opener breakfast is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12 at Niles New Tech Entrepreneurial Academy.
