Almon Edward Danley, 88, of Niles, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014 in Atlantis, Fla.1-22Danleyobit

The Florence, Ala. native was born March 2, 1925 to Preston and Flora (Gooch) Danley. Ed was a US Army veteran and on Dec. 15, 1951 he married Mary A. Griffin in Niles. He retired from Uniroyal after 27 years there and was a member of the National Camper & Hikers Assoc, Restless Rovers Club and the Niles Senior Center.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Mary A. Danley; sons, Ronald Wise & Joseph Danley; siblings, Malcolm, Earl & Nadine Danley and Helen (Danley) Hines.

He is survived by his sons, James E. (Nancy) Danley of Greenacres, Fla. Tim (Ronda) Danley of Niles, Mich. and Terry Wise in Florida; brothers, Walter Danley of Chattanooga, Tenn. and Harold Danley of Florence, Ala.; sister, Birtha (Danley) Bniecki of Winamac; eight grandchildren and six great-grand children. Funeral Services Saturday Jan. 25, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy, where friends may call for one hour prior to services. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
