T.A. Whitworth, 82, of Decatur

T.A. Whitworth, 82, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at his home. He was born Dec. 23, 1931, in Mulberry, Lincoln County, Tenn. to George and Emma (Warren) Whitworth. On March 28, 1953, he married Freda Dixon in Terra Ceia, Fla., who preceded him in death.

He was a member of Southwestern Michigan Coon Hunters Association. T.A. enjoyed small game and deer hunting, was a scrap hunter, enjoyed working on cars and spent many hours watching wrestling on TV. He was a farmer by occupation with many years in the fruit farming business.

T.A. is survived by his four children, Judith (William) Werer, Bryan Whitworth, Phoebe (Fred) Dale and Damion Whitworth. He was preceded in death by a son, Curt Whitworth. He has eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two sisters, Corrine Locker and Mable Hoover. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother and two sisters.

The family will gather with friends on Saturday, Jan. 18, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for visitation with a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, with Pastor Stacey Wilder officiating.
