Middle quarters prove key for Lakeshore

Visiting Lakeshore outscored Niles 32-19 in the second and third quarter en route to a 56-46 Big 16 West Division boys basketball victory Tuesday night.

The Lancers (4-4, 4-1 West) turned a 9-7 first quarter lead into a 41-26 lead heading into the final quarter.

The Vikings (0-5, 0-5 West) poured in 20 fourth quarter puts to make the final score more respectable.

Gabe Stokes led Niles with 16 points, while Tate Brawley and Gavin Rasler both scored 10 points.

Logan Steffes led Lakeshore with a game-high 22 points. Braden Burke added 16.
