Maroon Giants hold off Vikings

KALAMAZOO — Despite a game-high 24 points from Tate Brawley, visiting Niles remained winless following a 68-59 Big 16 Conference West Division boys basketball loss to Kalamazoo Central Friday night.

The Maroon Giants (4-1, 4-0 West) jumped out to an 18-11 first quarter lead and was able to maintain the advantage throughout the remainder of the contest.

The Vikings (0-4, 0-4 West) trailed 34-25 at halftime and 53-38 heading into the final quarter.

Gabe Stokes added 14 points for Niles.

Davarious Williams led a trio of Kalamazoo Central players in double figures with 18 points, Hunter Hale and Isaiah Livers added 15 and 11 points respectively.
