Homes sales up 19 percent in Cass, Edwardsburg

Home sales in Cassopolis and Edwardsburg continue to improve as 2013 comes to a close.

In November, home sales went up six percent, while for the entire year sales are up 19 percent with 254 homes sold compared to 213 in 2012.

Days that homes stayed on the market decreased by 25 percent (119 days compared to 159 days in 2012). For the year, however, the rate dropped just 13 percent.

The average sales price in November was $182,506, up eight percent from $169,747 last year. The overall average sales price for homes in Cassopolis and Edwardsburg went up 38 percent (176,839-$128,085).

In October, homes sales in Cassopolis and Edwardsburg really exploded with an 89 percent increase as 36 units were sold compared to 19 the previous year.

Days on the market decreased by 38 percent, while sale price improved by 49 percent.
