Scoreless second quarter leads to loss for Dowagiac

SOUTH HAVEN — A scoreless second quarter was the downfall of visiting Dowagiac at South Haven Friday night.

The Chieftains grabbed a 10-7 lead after one period of play, but were shut out in the second quarter as the Rams rallied and eventually pulled away for a 38-29 Wolverine Conference West Division victory.

Dowagiac (2-4, 1-2 West) trailed South Haven (3-3, 2-1 West) 16-10 at the break.

The Rams outscored the Chieftains 22-19 in the second half to secure the victory.

Ravyen Brown led Dowagiac with 11 points. Crieona Rodgers added seven.

Bobbie Goodwin had 14 points for South Haven.
