Dowagiac girls hold off Vicksburg 33-31

VICKSBURG — The Dowagiac girls basketball team held off host Vicksburg 33-31 to win its second game of the season Tuesday night.

The Chieftains (2-3) outscored the Bulldogs (1-3) 20-17 in the second half to pull out the victory.

Dowagiac trailed Vicksburg 8-5 after one quarter, but held an 8-6 advantage in the second period to cut the lead to 14-13 by halftime.

The Chieftains scored 10 points in each of the final two quarters to earn the victory.

Rayven Brown led Dowagiac and all scorers with 18 points. Crieona Rodgers added seven points and Dorisha McNeal 6.

Haley Klingele had seven points to lead the Bulldogs.
