Richard Dean Kemp, Sr., 66, of Niles passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles.

Richard was born July 27, 1947 in Berrien Springs, Mich. to James and Bell (McGee) Kemp. On Dec. 17, 1994, he married Lana Jones in Buchanan, Mich. He spent his working life as a mechanic. Richard enjoyed playing pool and spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his wife Lana Kemp, a stepson Troy (Kim) Kline of Niles, 3 sisters: Carrie Holt, Shirley Holt and Garolyn (Gordon) McFarlane; 3 grandchildren: Tannin M. Kline, Richard Dean Kemp III and Lillian K. Kline; and one step-grandchild, Seth Johnson.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Richard Dean Kemp, Jr., five brothers and five sisters.

Cremation has taken place. The family will have a memorial dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20 at the Moose Lodge, located at 2277 N. 5th ST. in Niles.
