A Dowagiac man was taken to the hospital Monday evening after the vehicle he was traveling in collided with a tree in Wayne Township, according to authorities with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies with the office responded to the crash at 7:24 p.m. They discovered that the driver of the vehicle, 32-year-old Harley Rose, also of Dowagiac, had lost control of the vehicle while traveling westbound on Gage Street, just west of Twin Lakes Road. The automobile ran off the roadway and struck a nearby tree.
