Dec. 2, 1953 — Dec. 11, 2013

Bruce A. Zalai, age 60 years of Niles, died on Wednesday evening, Dec. 11, 2013 at his home, suddenly, but of natural causes.

He was born on Dec. 2, 1953 in Niles to Mike and Mary (Paul) Zalai, Jr. He graduated from Niles High School in 1972, and was a lifetime area resident. He was formerly employed at Auto Zone in Niles as a Certified Auto Parts Technician.

Bruce truly enjoyed auto repair and restoration, and he especially enjoyed working on Pontiacs, GTOs and muscle cars. He joined the car club of “Old Boys Toys” in 1985, and in the 1990’s joined Michiana Cruisers.

His is survived by his sister Rebecca Sue (Joe) Bowman of Mishawaka, Ind.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday Dec. 16, 2013 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles, Michigan, with no formal services. Contributions in memory of Bruce may be made to the donor’s choice.
