Defending champs hand Eddies first loss

THREE RIVERS — Defending Wolverine Conference West Division champion Three Rivers has no intentions of relinquishing its title this season.

Just as visiting Edwardsburg.

The Wildcats outscored the Eddies 13-8 in the pivotal second quarter to break open a close contest.

Three Rivers led just 18-14 after one quarter, but opened up a 31-22 halftime lead and continue to extend its advantage in the finals two quarters to pull away from Edwardsburg 62-47.

Teagan Rivers led The Wildcats and all scorers with 16 points.

The Eddies (2-1, 1-1 West) were led by Alex Blake’s 15 points. Olivia Hack and Savannah Dixon both finished with 10 points.
