Rebecca Walker, of Dowagiac, died on Wednesday, Nov. 27. She was 15 years old.

Rebecca’s life began on March 9, 1998 in Berrien Center, Mich., the daughter of Tom-my and Angela (Canniff) Walker. She was a high school sophomore.

She was in the Rotary Interact Club, the high school choir, on the Apostolic Lighthouse Church Praise Team, Church Drama Team and the Church Music Team. She loved to play the piano and sing, often practicing for hours a day. She also loved to listen to all styles of Christian music, and was very active in the church youth group.

Rebecca is survived by her mother and father; brother, Nathaniel; grandparents, Janie Reed, Larry Starrett and Brenda Henslee-Starrett, and Linda Walker; great-grandmother Bertha Sparkman; aunts, Veronica (Shon) Stewart, Amanda (Thomas) Ottinger, Michelle Henslee, Tammie Pruett, Judy (Shawn) Scott, and Betsy Smith; uncles, Scott (Dawn) Smith and Mike Canniff; numerous cousins; church family; and many, many friends.

Rebecca is preceded in death by grandfathers Doyle Canniff, Sonny Henslee and Tommy Walker and one uncle, Kenny Smith.

Her family will gather with friends on Monday, Dec. 2, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Apos-tolic Lighthouse Church in Dowagiac. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 11 a.m.
