Frances Marie (Kelley) Lister, 93, of Berrien Springs, Michigan, died on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Lakeland Hospital Niles.

She was born on February 29, 1920, in Dowagiac, Michigan.

Frances graduated from Berrien Springs High School and received a diploma in nursing from St. Francis School of Nursing in Chicago. She was married in 1942 to Lee Harry Lister.

Her nursing career lasted 40 years, during which she worked as a pediatric nurse for Dr. Landgraf in Niles and as an industrial nurse at Clark Equipment Company, where she retired.

During retirement she was a volunteer at Pawating Hospital, now Lakeland Community Hospital, in Niles.

She also was active in her church and greatly enjoyed gardening.

Frances, who was lovingly known as Granny Franny, is survived by her son Tom and his wife Mary of Buchanan; her daughter Mary Jo Prosser and her husband Ronald of Berrien Springs; six grandchildren, Jim (Sue) Lister, Shelly (Kurt) Struss, Amy (Michael) Morgan, Kelley Prosser (Thomas McNamara), Jennifer Prosser, and Adam (Tiffany) Prosser; and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee and her parents, Lafayette (Fay) and Winifred Kelley.

Visitation will be held at Heritage Chapel in Berrien Springs from 4-6 pm on Friday, November 29. A funeral mass will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Berrien Springs on Saturday, November 30 at 11 am.
