Olfactory Hue Bistro in Niles raised $1,500 during a chicken dinner benefit this week for Linsdey Cloutier, a Niles resident battling leukemia.

Owner and chef Daysha Amster said she and her staff worked hard all week to prepare 600 pieces of chicken, 600 dinner rolls and 600 chocolate chip cookies for the pre-sale take home meals.

“It was a lot of work, but everyone showed support and that’s the big thing,” Amster said. “We are happy to do it and are definitely wanting to do something like it again.”

Amster said many people helped make the benefit happen, including Shelton’s Farm Market and several volunteers.

Cloutier is an employee at Leader Publications who was diagnosed with the disease for the third time in September.

Another fundraiser for her will be held at Wings Etc. in Niles on Tuesday, Nov. 19. Patrons who bring in a special coupon will have 10 percent of their food bill that day donated to Cloutier.
