Norma Lee Northrop, age 68 of Dowagiac, passed away Monday Nov. 11, 2013 at home. Norma Lee was born Dec. 31, 1944 in Decatur, the daughter of Carl and Alice (Cranmer) Buchanan. She was formerly employed by Jefferson Smurfit Corp. in Cassopolis.

Survivors include her husband Leon Northrop Jr. of Dowagiac; two daughters, Tracy (Ed) Wilson and Stacy Northrop, both of Dowagiac; two sons, Lance Northrop of Dowagiac and Leon (Candice) Northrop III of South Bend; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Norman, Leroy, Russell and Paul Buchanan, and a sister, Rosie Hodges, granddaughter Elizabeth Northrop and a great grandson, Joshua Smith-Aliva.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16th in the Newell Funeral Home, Decatur, with Lynn Stopper officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Memorials may be directed to the family. Friends may call one hour prior to the services.
