Gerhard H. Stockman, 86, of Eau Claire, died early Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Eau Claire, where friends may call from 1 – 3 and 5 – 7 Saturday afternoon. Pastor Eugene Clements of Bibleway Baptist Church, South Bend, will officiate. Online messages may be left at www.bowermanfuneral.com.

Gerhard was born Nov. 1, 1927, in Eau Claire, the son of Eduard and Hedwig (Karog) Stockman. He was a graduate of Eau Claire High School’s Class of 1947. He served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War. In addition to working his farm, he was employed by Whirlpool Corporation in their appliance assembly division and as a forklift driver, retiring after 40 years.

Survivors include a son, Gregory Stockman; two daughters, Jeanine (Daryl) Berry and Kimberly Stockman, both of Eau Claire; one granddaughter, Jennifer (Ross) Hicks and two great-grandchildren, Julian and Skylar Hicks, all of Eau Claire; and two brothers, Harry Stockman of Eau Claire and Herbert Stockman of Newburgh, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his wife, Donna (nee Miller).
