Jeffrey L. Dunlap, 66, passed away at Kindred Hospital in Mishawaka, Ind. on Oct. 31, 2013. He was born on Jan. 25, 1947 in Adrian, Mich.
He was united in marriage to Amber King on April 13, 1968 in Dowagiac. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Medic during the Vietnam War with Co. A 326th Med Bn 101st Airborne Div.
He worked as a store manager for Lou-Ann’s in Dowagiac in the early 70’s and then for over 22 years as Service and Parts Manager at Russell’s Foreign Care Repair in Berrien Springs. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Amber Dunlap, a son Brad (Michele) Dunlap of Dowagiac, a daughter Tracie (Mike) Weiss of LaPorte, Ind., five grandchildren Stephanie, Ashley, Lisa, Justine, and Connor, four great grandchildren Leyna, Jordyn, Madison and Jonathon, one sister Chris (Norman) Chervo of Henderson, Nev., a sister-in-law Helen Gallup of Jonesville, Mich., and a brother-in-law Bob (Linda) King of Niles. He was preceded in death by his parents Wilma Stark and Edson Gallup, and one brother Edson Gallup Jr.
His family will gather with friends on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, Mich. A Memorial Service will be held on Nov. 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 603 McCleary St., Dowagiac, MI.
