Three Rivers man sustains minor injuries after rollover crash

Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that his office responded to a personal injury crash that occurred at the intersection  of Pokagon Hwy and Wilberhill Road in Lagrange Twp Cass County Michigan on Oct. 13, 2013 at approximately 3:10 a.m.

Demetrius Pritchard, 35, of Three Rivers was traveling southbound on Wilberhill Road in a Pontiac Transport mini van when he fell asleep and failed to stop at the T intersection on Pokagon Hwy. Pritchard went airborne, down an embankment, struck a utility pole and rolled his van numerous times coming to rest approximately 300 yards south of the roadway in a corn field. Pritchard was able to crawl out of the vehicle and call 9-1-1 himself.

The injuries appeared to be minor, as seat belts were worn. The accident remains under investigation at this time. The Cass County Sheriff’s office was assisted on scene by Pokagon Tribal Police and the Cassopolis Fire Dept. Pritchard was transported to Dowagiac Lee Memorial Hospital by Pride Care Ambulance to be treated for his injuries.
