Dowagiac spikers swept by Three Rivers

The Dowagiac varsity volleyball team was swept by visiting Three Rivers 25-16, 25-13 and 25-19 in a Wolverine Conference West Division match Thursday.

Annie Ennesser and Amanda Badner each had five blocks for the Chieftains, while Ennesser had seven attempts and Badner five attempts.

Gabby Leonard had 20 assists.

The Dowagiac JV volleyball team defeated the Wildcats 25-23 and 25-20.

McKinzie Kiggins had nine serves, a block, two aces and six digs. Alyssa Allen had seven serves and four aces, while Taylor Hulett had five serves, a digs and two pushes.

Ellen Cox contributed seven serves and Mara Nelson five serves.

The Dowagiac freshmen squad also defeated Three Rivers 25-22 and 25-18.

On Tuesday, Dowagiac defeated Cassopolis 25-5 and 25-16.

At the Bangor Tournament Saturday, the Chieftains split with Parchment, lost to Paw Paw and defeated Bangor.

Dowagiac also defeated South Haven and Kalamazoo Christian before losing to Saugatuck.
