Estelle’s life began on July 18, 1925 in De Pere, Wisc., the daughter of Peter and Anna (Janssen) Janssen.  She was united in marriage to Francis “Buck” O’Brien in December of 1945 in Dowagiac, Mich.  Buck passed away in 1995 and she married Homa Tindall in 2000 in Florida.

Estelle devoted her life to her family and church.  She spent over 20 years volunteering at the Monday Angel Group, was a member of Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church where she was very active and a member of the Altar Society.  She also enjoyed spending winters in Ruskin, Fla.

Her loving family includes her husband Homa Tindall of Dowagiac, her children; Ron (Cindy) O’Brien of Tustin, Mich., Paul (Diane) O’Brien of South Carolina, Mike (Jackie) O’Brien of Decatur, Mich., Nancy (Kent) Dibble of Niles, Pat (Ellen) O’Brien of Bristol, Ind., Susie (Brad) Hemenway of Decatur, Mich., Peggy Cozzolino of Darien, Ill., Theresa (Jeff) Cheshire of Heber City, Utah, Larry (Krissi) O’Brien of Dowagiac, and Tim (Sue) O’Brien of Dowagiac, 28 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, one brother Ray (Eleanor) Janssen of Dowagiac, two sisters-in-law Shirley Janssen of Dowagiac and Genevieve Willard of Dowagiac.

Estelle passed away Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 at her residence in Dowagiac. She was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Anna Janssen, her first husband Buck O’Brien, and 15 siblings.

The family will gather with friends Sunday, Oct, 13, 2013, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, Mich.  The Rosary will be recited after the visitation Sunday at 7 p.m.  A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church.  Her burial will be at South Wayne Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.  Please sign her guestbook and leave a memory of Estelle for the family at www.clarkch.com.
