A Cass County man is under arrest after police seized an estimated $30,000 worth of marijuana and a loaded firearm from a residence in Cass County.

According to the Cass Count Drug Enforcement Team, narcotics investigators searched a barn in the 16000 block of Dutch Settlement in Penn Township Wednesday.

A search of the barn and surrounding property uncovered a marijuana grow operation. Detectives located numerous marijuana plants, more than five pounds of processed marijuana and a loaded firearm. The estimated street value of the marijuana seized is $30,000.

While on scene, detectives arrested George Clifford Williams, 49, for charges related to the marijuana grow operation. He was lodged in the Cass County Jail.

On Thursday, Williams was arraigned in Cass County Fourth District Court and bond was set at $30,000.

Williams was charged with manufacturing marijuana, two counts of felony firearms and possession of marijuana.
