Dowagiac cross country team 12th at Otsego

OTSEGO — The Dowagiac boys cross country team finished 12th at the Otsego Bulldog Invitational Saturday.

Bangor was the overall winner with 69 points. Marshall was second with 81 and Mendon third with 118.

Dowagiac finished with 315 points.

Comstock’s Zack Richards was the individual champion with a time of 16:31. Doug Hollett of Kalamazoo Christian was second with a 16:39.

DeYonte Sullivan led Dowagiac with a 40th place finish and a time of 19:18.

Jacob Peters ran 55th with a time of 20:23, William Phillips 59th with a time of 20:45, Michael Crise 79th with a time of 24:34 and Wesley Beaver 82nd with a time of 24:54.

Marshall was the girls champion with 70 points, Belding was second with 76.

Dowagiac did not field a full team.

Parchment’s Katherine Thayer was the individual champion with a time of 19:49.

Charlotte Sievers was 61st with a time of 24:53. Katie Murphy finished 82nd with a time of 27:57.
