CASSOPOLIS — A motorcycle slid into oncoming traffic and struck a vehicle stopped in the road after witnessing the crash Monday evening in LaGrange Township.

Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports his deputies handled the personal-injury crash on Dailey Road, just south of Pokagon Highway, at 6:40 p.m. Sept. 9.

Connor Wright, 19, of Vandalia, was traveling south on Dailey on his motorcycle when he lost control and fell from his bike, which continued to slide into the oncoming traffic lane and struck the stopped vehicle.

The driver of the second vehicle, Linda Vongphakdy, 32, of Dowagiac, did not sustain any injuries.

Wright was transported to Lakeland Community Hospital, Niles, for treatment of his injuries.

Helmets and seat belts were worn. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
