The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a motorcycle accident that killed a Cassopolis resident Tuesday night.

Ronald Turnbow, 50, of Cassopolis, was traveling East on Chain Lake Street just east of Wade Road at 8:07 p.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed.

Turnbow was found by his son Josh Turnbow, who was on his way home and located his father soon after the crash occurred. It is unknown what caused the crash. Turnbow was airlifted to South Bend Memorial where he was pronounced deceased.

Turnbow was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.

Penn Township Fire, Life Care Ambulance and Med Flight assisted deputies at the crash.
