PAW PAW — The Dowagiac girls cross country team finished eighth and the boys team ninth at the Paw Paw Harvest Festival Cross Country Invitational Tuesday.

Otsego won both the boys and girls titles. Portage Central was second in the girls race and Mattawan second in the boys race.

Niles finished fifth in the girls race and sixth in the boys race.

Dowagiac was eighth in the girls race and ninth in the boys race.

DeYonte Sullivan was the top finisher for the Dowagiac boys team with a time of 20:45, which was good for 34th place. Jacob Peters was 52nd with a time of 23:18, while William Phillips ran 23:22, Eric Krebs 23:22, Dominic Reaume 25:13 and Michael Crise 29:34.

Sarah Long finished 40th with a time of 27:16 for the girls team.

Jennifer Schaus ran 28:12, Charlotte Sievers 29:23, Jackie Hurle 31:24, Josy Quadt 31:52, Katie Murphy 32:00 and Isabel Thorne 33:48.
