HOBART, Ind. – The Brandywine football team opened its 2013 season with a 29-6 win over host River Forest Thursday night.

Marty Ward had a pair of touchdown runs for the Bobcats as he led the offense with 141 yards rushing on 16 carries.

Charlie Rodriguez added 76 yards on 10 carries, while quarterback Andrew Duckett connected with Trent Moskwinski for a pair of scoring strikes.

Duckett finished with 96 yards through the air.

On defense, Moshwinski  led the way with 10 tackles. Kenny Laurita added nine tackles and also had an interception.

The Bobcats (1-0) travel to Centreville Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
