Ray Hanback, 71, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013. Ray was born in Mt. Pleasant, Tenn. on Nov. 10, 1941 to the beloved Nannie Bell and James Hanback. In 1960 he joined the Marines and proudly served during Vietnam War.

Ray was a master electrician by trade, working in Michigan and later in Brevard County and at the Cape. He also spent over a decade on Ascension Island where he became Utilities Foreman overseeing the Powerhouse, Desalination and Waste Water Treatment Plants. Ray loved the outdoors – from deer hunting in Michigan to deep-sea fishing off Ascension Island. He was passionate about NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys (especially the cheerleaders!) and the Michigan Wolverines. GO BLUE!

Ray in survived by his wife Debbie, daughter Heidi Pavi, son Matt (Stephanie), three grandchildren: Autumn, Nick an Noah, his sisters Ann Doris (Bob) Sorget, Mae (Dick) Proud and numerous nieces and nephews.
