Lunk

Born October 18, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Morgan and Laura Adaline (Eddy) Barkes. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, William “Bill” and Leonard Barkes.

On August 8, 1963, Nonie married the love of her life, Ray Lunk. They had been together since the 4th grade. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Laura LeAnne (John) Fink and Cindy Lunk, both of Niles; son, Lonnie Lee Lunk of Elkhart; four grandchildren, Tiffany Lynn and Michael Loren Lunk and Nicole Jane and Nathan John Fink; and two siblings, Clifford Barkes of Edwardsburg and Delores Garlit of Missouri.

Nonie was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a gifted ceramics maker, owning her own company, Cellardoor. If she saw a piece of art she liked, she would immediately go home to her work space and try to duplicate the item. She opened her heart and home to help her family, friends, and students. She will be greatly missed.

Per her request, cremation will take place. No services are being held.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
