South Bend-based The Unraveling String Band returns to the Box Factory for the Arts stage in downtown St. Joseph at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 3.
The band’s four members present an engaging mix of musical genres in an all-acoustic format.
Specializing in four-part vocal harmonies, the band performs many classic songs of the 1960s and 1970s made famous by groups such as the Eagles, the Band, the Beatles, the Hollies, the Monkees, the Rolling Stones, the Animals and Crosby, Stills & Nash.
But it also plays a number of bluegrass, traditional folk and Celtic songs, all rounded out by a number of original compositions.
Band members include Dick Glisinski, acoustic bass guitar; Brian Johnston, 12-string guitar; Al Kniola, mandolin; and “Cousin” Greg Czyzewski, six-string guitar.  Al also hosts The Back Porch radio show on 88.1 WVPE Public Radio.
Tickets $10 at the door.As Cousin Greg co-released a top 2005 CD with Uncle John entitled Indiana Line.
The band performs regularly at Fiddler’s Hearth and Club LaSalle in South Bend.  Other recent appearances have included WVPE Public Radio summer events, Downtown South Bend First Fridays, Kate O’Connor’s Irish Pub in New Carlisle, the Union Coffee House in Buchanan, the 100 Center Hacienda in Mishawaka, Middlebury (IN) Third Fridays, O’Malley’s Bar & Grill in Bridgman, MI, and several summer concert series including those in Niles, New Buffalo and Three Oaks.
