One person had to be extricated from his truck after a rollover crash involving three vehicles Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Fulkerson Road and South 11th Street in Niles.

First responders used the Jaws of Life to extricate an older male from a late model red truck that was resting upside down on South 11th Street around 3:45 p.m. He was placed in an ambulance. His name and condition is unknown at this time.

One of the parties involved in the crash was Susan Jones, of Mishawaka. She said she was traveling north on South 11th Street and had stopped at the stoplight at the Fulkerson intersection. When the light turned green, Jones said the late model red truck, which was traveling north on South 11th, struck Jones’ vehicle on the right rear side, causing her to hit another vehicle that was in the northbound left turn lane.

Jody Snyder, a witness not involved in the crash, said she saw the red truck strike Jones’ vehicle, flip over once and come to a rest on its roof.

Jones said she was not injured. A male passenger in the third vehicle was also uninjured.

There were no passengers in any of the three vehicles involved.
