Robert “Bobby” passed away on June 17 of natural causes. He was born to the late Glen and “Katie” (Radkey) DePoy.

He was a lifelong resident of Niles and graduated in 1959 from Berrien Springs High School.

Bobby worked most of his life as a Locomotive Engineer for Penn Central, Amtrak, Conrail, and Norfolk Southern retiring in 2002. He was also the number one fan of the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.

He was preceeded in death by his parents Glen and Catherine, three sisters Gladys Johnson, Eloise Frucci, and Glenna (Mick) Burnett.

Bobby is survived by his wife Cindy (Sly) DePoy, daughters Shawn (Rodney) Kanous, Dawn (Darrell) Baker, five wonderful grandchildren, two sisters Anita (DeVerl) Weller and Marilyn (Jim) Bays.

Cremation has taken place and no visitation will take place.

A memorial service will take place on June 22 at 11 a.m. at Sumnerville Bible Baptist Church at 61268 Indian Lake Rd. Niles, MI.

Those wishing to make a memorium contribution in memory of Bobby may do so in care of the Sumnerville Baptist Church.
