Harold L. F. Sauve, 84, of Niles, passed away at Lakeland Hospital in Niles on Thursday, June 13, 2013.

Harold was born on June 1, 1929 to the late Joseph and Blanche (Bourassa) Sauve in Iron Mountain, Mich.

In 1946 Harold was drafted in to the United States Army Air Corp.  After serving his initial three-year requirement he decided to reenlist, for an additional 14 years active duty.  He was involved in Traffic Management and after his service Harold went in to the Army Reserves and continued on there for another 18 years until he retired as a First Sergeant.  Harold loved working in his yard and woodworking.  He spent hours in his woodshop making items that he then gifted to many of his family members.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Wife Jeanette in 2008, sons James Runnels and Harold Sauve Jr. and siblings Joseph Sauve, Gordon Sauve, Edwin Sauve and John Sauve.

He is survived by children Marsha (Steven) Kelley of Niles and Gayle Chapman of Port Richey, Fla., and siblings Alice Montgomery of Niles, and Arnold Sauve of Niles and his best friend and pet Buddy.

A military service to honor Harold will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel at 11:30 a.m. with a time of visitation 30 minutes prior.
