Edwardsburg graduates 158 during commencement exercises

Edwardsburg High School honored 158 graduates during commencement exercises Sunday afternoon.

The graduating class of 2013, parents and friends were welcomed by Edwardsburg Principal Dr. Jeffrey Leslie, who then introduced salutatorian Hannah Baylor, who spoke to her classmates.

Co-valedictorians Andrew Gnott and Jaclyn Schramm also spoke to the Class of 2013. The third valedictorian, Jessica Thompson, was unable to attend graduation.

Leslie presented the class to Superintendent Sherman Ostrander and while senior class advisor Kim Bartz read the names of the graduating seniors, Birdella Holdread, school board president, presented the diplomas to the graduates.

Hayley Jones, senior class president, led the members of the graduating class in the turning of the tassels.

The Edwardsburg band played the senior selection “Overcome” by Bill Locklear, while the choir performed “You Raise Me Up” by Josh Groban.
