A Friday morning crash on US-12 near Birch Road in Porter Township resulted in both drivers being transported from the scene by ambulance.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department reports that emergency personnel were called to the scene after the two vehicles crashed head on around 5 a.m. One vehicle was driven by Paul Lucas, 70, of Elkhart, Ind. and the other vehicle was driven by Kenneth Craft, 23, of Bristol, Ind. Both drivers take to local hospitals for their injuries.

Initial investigation indicates one of the drivers crossed the center line causing the accident.

The accident remains under investigation and any witnesses who may have seen the crash occur are asked to contact Deputy Strukel at 445-1296.

Porter Fire/Ambulance and Edwardsburg Ambulance both were at the scene.
