CASSOPOLIS — A driver taking evasive action ran into an embankment in Volinia Township Tuesday morning, causing her vehicle to overturn.

Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reported his deputies investigated a personal-injury crash on Dutch Settlement Street near Decatur Road at 6:27 a.m. Deputies reported that a vehicle driven by Fay Gless, 24, of Cassopolis, was westbound on Dutch Settlement Street when a vehicle driven by Daniel Adams, 28, of Cassopolis, pulled out of a driveway in front of her.

Gless avoided Adams but ran into the embankment and overturned.

Gless was taken to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac by Pride Care Ambulance with minor injuries.

Both drivers wore their safety belts. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

Penn Township Fire Department also assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene.
