Four second half goals lift Colts past Chieftains

Amanda Clapper scored three goals a visiting Comstock scored a 5-2 victory over Dowagiac in the opening round of the Wolverine Conference Soccer Tournament Monday.

The Chieftains led 2-1 at halftime on goals by Carli Rank off an assist from Christina Preston and an unassisted goal by Brooke Parritt.

The Colts scored four second half goals, including two by Clapper, to earn the victory.

 

“I was happy with the effort we gave throughout the game,” Dowagiac coach Craig Black said. “We just got short-handed at the end. We are getting healthier as the season continues and expect to get stronger every game.”

Dowagiac will host Berrien Springs Wednesday in round two.
