“Camp Safe Kids,” free to children 9 to 11 years of age, takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 17 at the COA Low Center in Cassopolis. Space is limited so early registration is recommended.

Each child attending will receive a free bike helmet, T-shirt and meals. The daylong camp, in its sixth year and offered by the Cass County Council on Aging, will teach kids about first aid, internet safety and abduction prevention.  They will also learn about water/boat safety, traffic/bike safety as well as smokehouse and fire safety.  A special attraction will be a canine unit demonstration. The day will culminate with a Hot Line Demo from Midwest Energy.

Children who want to participate will need to be driven to and from the COA.  Interested parties can register by stopping by the COA Lowe Center or by calling the COA at (269) 445-8110 or (800) 323-0390 to get an application for admission.  Space is limited to 32 children.  The camp will take place at the COA Lowe Center, 60525 Decatur Road at M-60, Cassopolis.
