Donald Leroy Copper, 72, of Niles, passed away on May 14, 2013 at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles of natural causes.

He was born Sept. 15, 1940 in Buchanan to Leonard and Allene (Lolmaugh) Copper, who both have preceded in death. Donald graduated from Edwardsburg High School in 1958. He retired as a machinist from Capital Technology in South Bend and loved hunting, fishing, and raising pheasants. On Jan. 30, 1965 in Mishawaka, Ind., he married Mary Scheibelhut, who survives.
Surviving family include his wife, Mary Copper of Niles; son, Rodney (Karen) Copper of Niles; daughter, Michele (Mari) Copper of Niles; two grandchildren, Kayla and Kelsey Copper; and sister, Connie (Richard) Kupper of Niles.
A funeral visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Hoven Funeral Home, Inc. in Buchanan.
