Bobcats win Constantine title on home track

The Brandywine boys track team track team doesn’t seem to care where it competes when it comes to invitationals.

Friday night’s invite may have been called the Constantine Invitational, but it was held on the Bobcats’ home track and they rolled to another easy victory.

Brandywine, led by Nathan Anders’ and Courtlan Gordon’s four first place finishes, scored 140 points to easily best runner-up Constantine, which finished with 79 points.

Buchanan was seventh with 29 points.

Anders won the 110-meter high hurdles (16.2), 300-meter intermediate hurdles (42.82), the long jump (19-8) a member of the winning 1,600-meter (3:37.39) relay team alon with Gordon, Michael Shelton and Andrew Duckett.

Gordon also captured the 400-meters (52.48), the 200-meters (23.73) and was part of the winning 800-meter relay team. That team also consisted of Cody Brackett, Duckett, Shelton and ran a time of 1:36.20.

Also earning a first place finish for the Bobcats was Evan Hartman in the discus with a toss of 165-5.5.

The Quincy girls team defeated Constantine 149-133 for the championship.

Brandywine finished 15th. Buchanan was fourth with 42 points.

Bucks’ standout Brianna Dinneen won the long jump (14-9.5), the 100-meters (12.56), the 400-meters (1:02.12) and the 200-meters (26.70).
