Brandywine third-grader Alyssa Fein made $24 selling lemonade on Saturday with a classmate.

Fein took her $12 share and donated it Thursday to West Woods of Niles, a nursing center where her great-grandmother spent six weeks rehabbing from a hospital stay.

“I wanted to do it last year, but I didn’t get a chance to,” said Fein, 9. “Some people can’t do what we can do, so we should do it for them.”

Fein presented the cash to West Woods of Niles residents, who were appreciative. West Woods staff presented Fein with a free wristband to the upcoming West Woods of Niles carnival.

Fein came with her grandmother, Becky East, and great-grandmother, Betty East.

Fein said her friend donated the other $12 to fund cancer research.
