To the editor:

We are proud to announce another Dowagiac Chieftain Alumni Band day as we celebrate the rich and historical tradition of our band program.
On Monday, May 20, at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Dowagiac Middle School, we will invite back to the stage ANY alumni of the Dowagiac Chieftain Band program from ANY point in history.
Together, under the direction of a guest conductor, we would like to begin the tradition of closing our spring concert with the performance of Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever.”
It is YOUR dedication to this program, which not only started the tradition of excellence, but continues to support our current students today!
We hope you will consider joining us for a great evening of music and memories.
If you are interested in performing in the alumni concert, there are a few ways to reserve a spot:
• Call (269) 782-4423 and leave your name, number, address, year you graduated, instrument and if you need to borrow an instrument.
• Email – cjbrooks@dowagiacschools.org
• Facebook – search for Dowagiac Union High School Band and leave a message on the site.
After you leave a message or contact C.J. Brooks, I will send music to you and, if needed how to get an instrument.
We will rehearse on May 20 at 1:15 p.m. at DUHS.
If this rehearsal is not a possibility, we will also rehearse that evening at 6 p.m. prior to the concert.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Also, please share this information with as many alumni as possible so we can have many past band members perform with us!
Musically,
C.J. Brooks
