The Niles softball team swept a Big 16 West Division doubleheader from visiting Benton Harbor Tuesday.

The Vikings won the first game 15-0 as Brooke Wilson tossed a no-hitter.

Niles took the second game 16-1. Hannah Porterfield had a home run in the contest.

Ciera Peel was the winning pitcher.

No other individual statistics were provided.

I thought we did what we had to do to win tonight,” Niles coach Ryan Frontczak said. “Our girls just did their jobs. We had our goal and we did it. We were also able to rest girls for our long stretch we have ahead of us this week.

“We are trying to get healthy right now. We have quite a few girls banged up right now. It was nice to see other girls step up today. I thought both pitchers threw well tonight and our defense did the job.”

Niles is back on the diamond Wednesday when it hosts Edwardsburg.
