A year from now, if Brandywine and Mendon meet in softball they may be members of the same athletic conference.
But Saturday morning at the Brandywine Round Robin, the Bobcats and Hornet were just two teams in search of a victory.
Mendon was able to snap Brandywine’s 12-game winning streak with a 6-1 victory.
The Bobcats (15-4) bounded back and defeated Kalamazoo Hackett 11-0 in five innings.
In the first game, both teams finished with five hits. Unfortunately for the Bobcats, two of Mendon’s hits went for extra bases — a double by Alexis Russell and a home run by Danielle Parsons.
All five of the Bobcats’ hits were singles.
Against Hackett, Brandywine banged out 10 hits, including two each from Justine Sater and Michaela Hartline. The pair combined for six RBIs.
Also driving in runs were Makenna Hartline, Kelly Harper and Mikaya Kemp, who also picked up the victory in the circle.
