To the editor:

This is for the City of Buchanan, Buchanan City Fire Department, Community of Buchanan and many other friends.
We just wanted to thank each and every one of you that went out of your way to help make the pancake breakfast such a success for our family.
From the people that spent countless hours planning, organizing, setting up, cooking, cleaning and everything in between, to the people that donated items to be auctioned off, to the friends and family that came to support us. Everything you did for our family could never be repaid. Financially, the gift you gave us was so generous, but the gift that meant the most was the gift you gave in our hearts — that was priceless.
It lifted our spirits in a way none could have imagined and it left such a lasting impression on our children, too. They were amazed that such a party was held in their family’s honor.
I now know why we choose to stay here to raise our children… you see, unlike “big business, big towns,” where when you fall they step right over you or on you, Buchanan is a “small town.” When you are struggling, they lift you and carry you through the finish line. When we lay our heads down at night, we know that we did something right to have been blessed with such wonderful friends and family, and, after all, that is what matters!
