The Brandywine softball team brought out the big sticks Tuesday in its sweep of visiting Bridgman.
The Bobcats hit five home runs and had three doubles as they won the opening game 12-2 in five innings.
An exceptional effort by Harper carried Bobcats to the easy.
Harper rocked Bridgman with three home runs. Harper went 3-for-33 in the game with five RBIs and three runs scored. Harper homered in the first, third and fourth innings.
Nine runs in the first three innings helped Brandywine to the blowout. A three-run home run by Harper in the first inning and a passed ball and a two-run home run by Makenna Hartline during the second inning supplied the early offense for Bobcats.
The Bobcats hit five home runs in the win. Additional home runs for Bobcats came when Harper homered in the third and fourth innings and Mikayla Kemp homered in the fourth inning.
Kemp got the win for the Bobcats. She allowed two runs over five innings. She struck out five, walked one and surrendered six hits.
In the second game, Bridgman didn’t have a chance as Bobcats handed the Bees a 7-1 setback.
Brandywine scored two runs in the fifth on a passed ball and a wild pitch.
Rachael Ort did her best to jumpstart the offense for Bobcats, reaching base three times.
Kemp picked up the win for Bobcats. Kemp pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and no walks while striking out five.
