The Niles boys and girls track teams split with St. Joseph and Benton Harbor Tuesday afternoon.

The host Vikings won against Benton Harbor, but were defeated by St. Joseph.

Winning events for the Niles boys team were Nick Knoll in the 400-meters (54.21) and Derek Scott in the shot put (40-10.5) as well as the 1,600-meter relay team of Graham Hoppstock, Gabrial Trujillo, Knoll and Sean Craig, which ran a time of 3:44.18.

The Niles girls won the 800-meter relay with the unit of Maya Brookins, Ashley Love, Paige Chaffin and Elyse Zimmerman. They ran a time of 1:52.36. Love also won the long jump with a leap of 15-6.

Kara Smith grabbed the other first place finish for the Vikings as she won the shot put with a toss of 32.6.75.
