Led by freshman Elyse Zimmerman, the Niles girls track team finished sixth at the Edwardsburg Invitational Friday night.

Zimmerman won the 100-meters and was part of the Vikings’ winning 800- and 400-meter relay teams.

St. Joseph easily won the meet with 114 points. Lakeshore was second with 92 and Coldwater third with 66. The host Eddies finished fifth with 51.33 points and the Vikings sixth with 51 points.

Zimmerman ran a time of 12.71 to capture the 100-meters.

Zimmerman was joined by Ashley Love, Lashonda Greene and Maya Brookins for both events. Niles ran 1:51.11 in the 800-meters and 53.16 in the 400-meters.

Carly Cockrum provided Edwardsburg with both of its first place finishes. She won the long jump with a leap of 16-2 and won the 200-meters with a time of 27.42.
Lakeshore won the boys title with 126 points. St. Joseph was second with 110 and Coldwater third with 87.

Niles finished sixth with 40 points and Edwardsburg was eighth with 14.

The Vikings finished second in the 3,200 and 1,600 relays.
