Bobcats break out the bats in sweep of Chiefs

The Brandywine softball team swept a pair of non-league games from White Pigeon Monday.

The Bobcats scored 12 runs in the first inning of the opening game on their way to a 19-0 victory in three innings.

Mikayla Kemp had a home run and picked up the victory in the circle striking out five.

Justin Sater and Rachael Ort tripled and doubled respectively for Brandywine.

In the nightcap, a superb effort by Kelly Harper carried Bobcats to an 11-1 win in six innings.

Harper rocked White Pigeon with two home runs. She went 4-for-4 in the game with three RBIs and three runs scored. Harper homered in the second and second innings.

The biggest inning for Bobcats was the second. White Pigeon had no answer as Bobcats scored eight runs.

Bobcats hit three home runs in the win. The other round-tripper came when Ayralynn Lasane homered in the second inning.

Hannah Hadden got the win for Bobcats. She allowed one run over six innings. She struck out 12, walked two and surrendered three hits.

Bobcats got one-run boosts in each of the third, fourth and sixth. In the third, Bobcats scored on an RBI double by Victoria Ebersol, scoring Kemp.
